Hooray for the mail lady!

It was hot today, so we only did half a walk.  Even then, Topsie didn't make it all the way.  She just sat down and wouldn't go.  So, Tinkerbelle carried her home.  On our way home, we ran into the mail lady who gave us treats. Who knew mail ladies carried treats?  Hooray for the mail lady!

The lost Cayt

Walking by the hedge today reminded me of how we came to meet Cayt.  Cayt was unlike any other cat I had met.  For one, she was loud.  In fact, it was following the sound of her unabashed pitiful yowels that we found her.  For another, she wasn't afraid of us.  Even when Topsie and I barked loudly at her, she didn't flinch.  It turned out that Cayt was lost and now living in the hedge.  So, Tinkerbelle and I took her food and water, until one day she wasn't there any more.  Later, we found out that she had been taken in by a kind person, and we hope she has found a happy home.

For old time's sake...

Today, we went by the hedge where we first met Cayt (see the next post for details on how we met Cayt).  She no longer lives there, having long since been rescued by a kind person, but I still felt compelled to sniff around and inspect the hedge that had once been Cayt's home. Tinkerbelle protested..."she's not there anymore"....as I pulled to get a better look.  I know, it's just for old time's sake, I explained.

Holidays are for sleeping in

Now, Topsie and I both like a good snooze and spend a fair part of each day curled up doing just that.  And, we both agree that holidays aren't as much fun unless you get to sleep late.  But, this Memorial Day as we set out late for our morning walk, we were delighted to see that we are not the only ones who  enjoy sleeping in.
